A multi-million dollar fire gutted several Bank St. businesses overnight and will cause major traffic problems this morning.
The fire was called in late Thursday night by multiple 911 callers. Witnesses said there seemed to be an explosion, and then they could see smoke and flames.
It took over five hours to control in buildings from 851 through 859 Bank St.
The structures contain several commercial stores.
A fire investigator has been called to the scene. One person was injured by flying debris, but there are no other immediate reports of injuries.
More than 700 customers in the area were out of power overnight, but that is expected to be restored soon.
Bank St. will remain closed as investigators douse hot spots and investigators work at the scene.
