Residents in south Ottawa have been on the lookout over the past two days after reports of a black bear on the loose and spotted walking the course of Stonebridge Golf Club.
The Stonebridge Community Association said on its Facebook page that the bear was hit by a car and likely injured when it was seen heading into the woods near Rossburn Crescent.
Ottawa police said there were reports of a bear in the area of Barnsdale Road and Prince of Wales Drive on Sunday morning.

On Monday morning, more residents spotted a bear on the Stonebridge course on Jockvale Road near Prince of Wales. That is near the area where the bear was spotted on Sunday.
Police say residents need to be cautious if they spot the bear.
This comes after police in Newmarket, Ont., shot and killed a black bear that was roaming in backyards.
