急问：有谁换过厨房外的抽油烟通道外盖（exterior exhaust hood cap）

家住barrhaven stonebridge area，房子8年新，builder Monarch, 厨房外的抽油烟通道外盖（英文大概叫exterior exhaust hood cap or vent hood cap，similar to the one on the following links）上的4个片片全断了，需要更换，但买不到一样的，所以要更换整个外盖，但不知可不可以只用outdoor use silicone caulking 固定 （不太方便用冲击钻打洞后再上4个螺丝）。有哪位朋友换过，给个建议。谢谢！

可以。外盖再坏了，caulking都没事。

Thanks a lot for all your quick reply. The cap I bought from RONA does not have the net to block animals(e.g. birds, rat...). If I replace it, how to put a net inside?

买那种带网的， 我就换过。

我跑遍所有hardware store 都找不到合适们金属纲，后来在一元店(好像是 Dollarama)找到一个有纲的平盆，剪下纲塞进气喉入口，固定。问题解决。

我自己换过。房子的外墙，如果是那种一条一条的，不用打眼，直接螺丝拧进去就可以，然后是抹胶。
最危险的是要爬高作业，其它都不难。

这种盖子，只有里面吹气出来的时候，片片才会开。动物从外面是进不去的。如果片片老化，卡住了，小鸟才可能入住。

Still checking hardware stores one by one to see if I can get a cap with net. The net is necessary in my area as there are lots of tiny birds flying in my yards. Thanks a lot for all your replies

我在home depot 还拿过免费的挡网，问职员买，他代我到杂物间剪了一小块。

Thanks for your info. Do you know the English for 挡网? Is it plastic or metalic and how you attach it to your vent hood?
