Hello residents,
I would like to take a moment to highlight a local youth who is participating at this year’s Olympics and encourage residents to demonstrate their support.
Erica Wiebe is a former Stittsville resident with the subtle ability to wrestle her opponents into submission – an ability so prominent that she will be doing so at this year’s 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Erica grew up in Stittsville as a young athlete with a modest dream of becoming a soccer super-star. She pursued that dream into secondary school but her competitive nature drove her in a variety of sports. But it wasn’t until Grade 9 when the sign-up sheet for Co-Ed Wrestling practice went up that she realized she had found her true love.
Her passion quickly transitioned into reality as she moved to her new home in Calgary, Alberta where she pursued a degree in Kinesiology.
