An investigation continues into a a multi-alarm fire that severely damaged a number of businesses in the city’s east end early Thursday.
Fire services say they received a call reporting heavy smoke coming from the roof of a small commercial centre at 5370 Canotek Rd. at about 1:30 p.m.
The blaze appeared to be concentrated at an auto-detailing business.
The fire was declared to be under control at 4:38 a.m. Problems remained with hydro connections to the building.
The damages have been estimated at $400,000.
There were no reports of injuries and there is no word on the cause.
