Five people were under arrest after a pair of suspects in the robbery of a Montreal Road restaurant barricaded themselves in a nearby apartment Sunday night.
Patrol officers and a canine unit responded to the robbery at the business between the intersection of Cody and Cyr avenues at about 8 p.m. The sniffer dog tracked two men to a building on Blake Boulevard near Lajoie Street.
But the suspects had gone into an apartment and refused to open the door.
As of nearly midnight, police were advising people to avoid the area.
Arrests were ultimately made without further incident, police said.
The investigation is still underway.
