After a 10-day dry spell, Ottawa might get some welcome rain along with the record-breaking September heat.
The fog should burn off fast but Tuesday’s forecast is a mix of sun and cloud with a 40-per-cent chance of afternoon or evening showers and the risk of a thunderstorm. The high is 26 C with a humidex rating of 31 dipping to 16 C overnight, when fog patches are expected to develop.
Then it’s forecast dry days through early next week with another hot, sunny weekend in the works. Ottawa weather historian Rolf Campbell, who tweets as @YOW_Weather, noted that Ottawa hasn’t had a stretch of weather like this in late September since records began more than 140 years ago.

Great that it's warm out, but if it were any muggier, it would be raining without the clouds.#ottweather

Environment Canada keeps the good news coming through Monday, which is expected to be sunny and 27 C.
