Ottawa, ON – Senator Hon. Salma Ataullahjan issued the following statement:
"It’s been under-reported by the media that as a result of false accusations, the reputation of hardworking Chinese Canadians was put in doubt.
"I know the tremendous dedication Chinese Canadians have to our country, its laws, and proud multicultural identity.

“Canada continues to be a great example of diversity and multiculturalism, where all religions and cultures peacefully coexist with one another. Canadians respect all walks of life as our country is comprised of multiple backgrounds and ethnicities. Hate crimes are not tolerated in Canada.

"For those of you who feel your reputation was put into question, my message to you is simple: this is unacceptable and Canada’s Conservatives stand with you.

After failing to find the original source of Trudeau's ridiculous statement after the lie targeting Chinese was exposed, I have lost faith in google or googling. It has become apparent that it is close to impossible to find a statement like that if the media choose not to amplify it, which is apparently the case for this statement as it is for Trudeau's.

In the case of Trudeau statement, lucky enough, I was able to find a copy from the website of an online journalist/blogger.
