Good morning… from an hour earlier than anyone would really like.

In case you already haven’t, it’s time to move your clocks forward.

(Yes, even the ones on your stove and in your car).

An employee climbs a ladder to change a huge clock. Still easier than changing the time on your microwave.

The good news for those sleepy eyes?

By moving the clocks forward this morning, we’re now one hour closer to spring.

Although it may not seem that way right now.

Ottawa has received more than a healthy dose of snow over the past week and there’s still more in the forecast.

This morning is expected to be a mainly cloudy with a 60 percent chance of flurries.

We should hit close to 2 C this afternoon when, hopefully, the sun makes at least a brief appearance.

The temperature will drop to -6 C tonight.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are looking almost identical: same high of 2 C with a mix if sun, clouds and flurries.

The biggest difference is accumulation.

On Monday expect only a centimetre or two but be ready for more as we could see up to five centimetres on Tuesday.

Wednesday is expected to bring less than Tuesday and more than Monday.

Spring, in case you’re wondering, is not on the 21st this year.

Good news: the equinox falls on Tuesday, March 20th.

Now you’re hopefully a day and an hour closer to spring than before you began reading this.
