Let’s start with the good news: It’s going to warm up.

Ottawans started their Saturday at a very winter-like -7C.

By midday the temperature is expected to rise to -1C. It’s not quite tanning weather so don’t leave that jacket at home quite yet.

But wait, there’s more good news.

If you’re out and about that -1C will probably feel a bit more civilized with a generous amount of sunshine.

If you’ve been worried about your vitamin D levels after those gloomy past few months make sure to enjoy today.

Please, really enjoy it because that, unfortunately, leads us to the bad news.

First, the “warm” weather isn’t going to last. Environment Canada is forecasting that the temperature will drop to an unseasonal low of -10 C.

There’s also a 30% chance of flurries both tonight and tomorrow morning.

(Winter is being a little overly dramatic with its death scene.)

That snow shouldn’t stick around for long, however, as Sunday’s high is expected to reach 5 C.

In fact, temperatures should continue to rise all week and we could even hit double digits (11 C) by Thursday.

Enjoy your weekend!
