Eight people were evacuated from an apartment complex Saturday night in Gatineau after a kitchen fire broke out in one of the four units.
Gatineau firefighters said they were called to 58 Blvd. Lorrain at around 7:20 p.m. Twenty-three firefighters in nine trucks were dispatched; the fire was under control by 9 p.m.
Fire officials confirmed $90,000 damage was caused to the apartment. Six people were being offered assistance by the Red Cross.
