From the Fougère investigation:

• Hire an extra 35 personal support workers at an annual cost of $2.3 million
• Develop ways to test applicants’ attitudes and English and French communication to determine suitability for long-term care
• Provide additional dementia care education to staff and families
• Create a long-term care board of directors made up of council members and community members

From the auditor general investigations:

• Review staffing model and implement an action plan to address any gaps
• Increase staff awareness of the obligation and duty to report abuse
• Require that all drugs be secured while in transit within a long-term care home
• Implement proper record keeping to track the movement of drugs in the emergency drug supply
