As much as 30 mm of rain is forecast to end the week but the light at the end of the dismal tunnel is a sunny Saturday.

Thursday’s outlook is for cloudy skies, early morning showers then a 30 per cent chance of more wet stuff in the late morning and afternoon and a high of 23 C. Then showers “at times heavy” end near midnight. About five mm of rain is expected plus there’s a risk of an evening thunderstorm. Fog patches will develop overnight.

For Friday, expect mainly-cloudy skies, showers totaling 15 to 25 mm and the risk of thunderstorms in the late morning and afternoon. The high is expected to be 22 C.

Overnight, expect a 40 per cent chance of showers and a low of 9 C.

Saturday’s outlook is for a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 20 C and a low of 5 C.

For Sunday, expect a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers, a high of 17 C and a low of just 1 C.

Then it’s a string of sunny days with highs of 16 C Monday, 20 C Tuesday and 21 C Wednesday.

Normal temperatures for early May are highs of 17 C and lows of 6 C.

Wednesday’s toasty temperatures were welcome.
