WHY I AM RUNNING

People in Ottawa South are hurting...



Doug Ford says "Help is on the way!" Doug is for the little guy and gets that although some of us are just fine in the Ottawa area, many people are NOT. They are the silent, hard working people who think Ontario Liberals are out of touch.

These and other issues are important to Ottawa South:

Accountability

• For a more open, transparent government
• Ethics and renewed trust in government
• Make smarter decisions to avoid waste and mistakes
• Oversight
• Time to hold to account for the record

Finances

• Work toward balanced budgets
• After ten years of deficits, it's time to care about every dollar
• End borrowing from the future to reduce current bills
• The massive debt accumulation must be checked

Liberal promises of balanced budgets 100 days ago did not last long. An $11 billion deficit is projected again this year, according to the AG and the Financial Accountability Officer. (The Liberals said it was $6 Billion - so very wrong)

Health and Long-Term Care

• Focus on wait times for hospital, home care, and long term care
• Ottawa South has less money per person for home care
• Liberals are moving 2 MRI machines out of Ottawa South - with NO public notice - from the Breast Screening Clinic at the Riverside Hospital.
• Front-line health care is important, not just administration
• Wait times and hallway medicine are planned consequences of Liberal budget cuts, not a surprise

Families

• Families and seniors need to feel secure: access to health care and necessities
• Children in neighbourhood schools that are resourced
• Resources for people with autism
• Compassion for those in need, so families can keep more money in their pockets and have financial stability and security: this starts with sound financial decisions and planning at the provincial level

Businesses

• Consult before making changes
• Keep a lid on hydro rates and costs
• Small businesses also being challenged by federal Liberal changes to CCPC rules; see my Tweets
• Many employee hours have been cut recently and 60,000 jobs were lost in January 2018
• Talk to your corner store owner. Ottawa South stores and shops are vital to our community.

New Ideas

• Every government grows stale
• Ottawa South has had Liberals at the helm for 30 years federally and 15 years provincially
• Being elected is a temporary gift from voters - a chance to work hard and bring in a fresh perspective

40年前是郊区。
最近十多年一直是两级自由党票仓。麦坚迪兄弟的家乡。
老一辈的华人移民住那边的很多，但其他族裔的移民也很多。
白人很多都是退休的。
但是话说回来，要是自由党把这块地都丢了，估计下一届都难翻身。
保守点的郊区，得是像Kanata往西那种大农场的郊区。

OK, Ottawa South : st laurant south, smyth road south, huntclub east, airport , bank street south. 确实是个复杂的选区。但有很多生意人。谁住那个区呀？
