The Ottawa Catholic School Board has appointed a Parliament Hill staffer to fill in as a trustee until November after the death of her long-time predecessor.
Regan Preszcator will represent River/Capital ward left vacant after the death of long-time trustee Kathy Ablett.
The board sought applications to fill the position until Nov. 30.
Preszcator worked for a member of Parliament before moving on to the Senate of Canada, the board said in a press release. She is a bilingual member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Seven qualified candidates were interviewed by the board to fill out Ablett’s 2014-18 term. She died in May after nearly 27 years as a trustee.
