Amazon has selected New York and northern Virginia as locations for its new headquarters, and will beef up its presence in Nashville after a one-year search for a second home.
The retail giant settled on the Queens, N.Y., neighbourhood of Long Island City and an area of Arlington, Va., known as Crystal City for its so-called HQ2.
After the Wall Street Journal first reported that the company had selected the two locations, the company confirmed the news a little before 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
In addition to the two new hubs with 25,000 employees each, Amazon also revealed it is planning to build what it's calling a "centre of excellence" in Nashville, Tenn.
