In light of the increasing number of new COVID-19 cases globally, the Canadian Government has recently introduced a requirement for all passengers (Canadian citizens and foreign nationals) ages five or older to have a COVID-19 PCR test prior to the departure of their flight to Canada.
We are writing as this requirement applies to your upcoming flight.
At check-in, we will ask to see your medical certificate / laboratory test documentation that indicates a negative result for a COVID-19 PCR test. The sample for the test must have been provided within 72 hours (3 days) of the scheduled departure time of your flight from Hong Kong to Canada and must be performed by a laboratory or health facility, accredited by the government or relevant medical professional association in the country where you have the test.
The test result can be provided in a printed or electronic format and must contain:
Your name (this must be identical to the name in your travel document)
Your date of birth
The name and address of the laboratory/clinic/facility that administered the test
The date on which the test was conducted
The type of test conducted (i.e. PCR test)
A statement to indicate the test result is negative
Please find the most updated requirements listed on the official website of the Canadian Government.
Finally, please note that you are also required to provide your contact details and quarantine plan to the Canadian government prior to arrival. To ensure a smooth arrival experience and avoid possible fines, we recommend you submit your details online on ArriveCAN. The website is available 14 days prior to your flight date or the app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
We look forward to welcoming you on board.
