Ontario scraps plans to redesign defective blue licence plates still used by 170K drivers
The province stopped issuing the blue licence plates in 2020 after drivers and law enforcement officials noticed they were difficult to read at night.
Some 193,000 blue licence plates, with the new slogan “A Place to Grow,” were issued since February 2020, a government official told the Star on background. Today, about 170,000 are still in circulation.
Did anyone consult with police before designing and manufacturing the new Ontario licence plates? They’re virtuallly unreadable at night.
