卡尔顿大学数学训练营（Carleton Math Bootcamp):
我们(卡尔顿大学数统院)今年推出了一个新活动——数学训练营。目前已经有30多位学生报名了，但我们还是希望能吸引更多同学参加。这个训练营的主要目的是帮助学生在高中数学中拿到好成绩，不过我们还有一个很重要的想法：其实，很多同学在申请数学与统计学院时，并不太了解这个专业毕业后的就业方向。这也是我们在招生中常常遇到的一个难题。所以这次训练营里，我们也特别安排了一些内容，来帮助大家了解数学与统计专业未来可以从事哪些工作。我们还会邀请来自加拿大统计局（Stats Canada）和加拿大安全情报局（CSE）的人来和同学们分享他们的职业经历。
This year we (School of Mathematics and Statistics at Carleton) are launching a new activity, the Math Bootcamp. We have 30+ students already registering, but we are hoping to get more students.
The idea about the Camp is to help students achieve top grades in high school math, but we also have an important agenda of recruitment: one of the challenges in recruitment for the School of Math & Stat is that incoming students have a rather poor understanding of the job opportunities with a degree in Math & Stat. In this camp, we plan to address this, and showcase possible careers. We will be inviting people from Stats Canada and CSE to speak to the students.
