(1) Chemist III (Global Assistance Initiatives) - US Pharmacopeia (USP)
Location: Rockville, Md
Work Description of Duties: Works on problems in analytical chemistry that are directly in support of revision of the USP-NF. These include evaluation of reference standards, development or validation of official methods, evaluation of packaging materials, stability and dissolution studies and general research in analytical chemistry.
Assists Director in planning, implementing and evaluating laboratory procedures/systems.
Performs research in pharmaceutical analysis.
Attends scientific seminars and presents publications.
Reviews, interprets, and evaluates scientific literature.
Writes project testing plans.
Leads project teams.
Writes project reports for review by Group Leader and/or reviewer.
Investigates, evaluates, and recommends the purchase of routine laboratory equipment.
This position in part will support Global Assistance Initiatives and may require some international travel.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements Education: Ph.D. degree in some field of chemistry, pharmacy, or related field or Bachelor's/MS degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience: Excellent project management skills and the capability of planning and conducting research independently. Specific Skills: Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills. The ability to speak a foreign language is highly desirable, i.e. Spanish, French, or Chinese.

(2) International Account Manager - US Pharmacopeia (USP)
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Description of Duties:Estimated 30-40% travel.
Responsible for assigned international regional efforts to promote USP core products to include Reference Standards, Publications and Pharmacopeial Education. Works with the Director of International Sales and Marketing to develop regional based business plans. Responsible for revenue and service growth within assigned regions.
Manage distributors and customer accounts in assigned region to grow revenue base for USP products. Works with internationally based companies to increase awareness of USP products and services. Responsible for group presentations and training on USP products.
Identifies new channels for distribution and product expansion within assigned territory. Works closely with Associations, Regulatory and Government Agencies to expand reach and revenue impact for USP products. Gains understanding of assigned international markets relative to pharmaceutical industry, customer needs, regulatory concerns and customs regulations.
Identifies pull through activities to expand USP's market presence and competitive positioning. Understands local market dynamics to advise on pricing, product offerings and marketing approaches within territory region.
Lead country team efforts for execution of region specific plan. Responsible for development and execution of regional based plan along with coordination of internal efforts to achieve plan goals. Responsible for working within multi-disciplinary teams within organization to champion customer needs.
Must be able to spearhead resolution for customer issues both internally and externally. Work in emerging markets to educate customers on benefits of USP products. Identifies key contacts for influence within new markets for USP.
Responsible for monthly and quarterly sales reports. Analyzes sales data to improve performance results and territory plans.
Stays abreast of USP scientific information and industry trends. Identifies new opportunities for service expansion and new product development.

RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences. MBA is highly desirable. Experience: Three years experience providing account management to pharmaceutical or chemical/laboratory supply channels desirable. Prefer candidates who have experience managing international regions. Proven track record in sales is required. Other language speaking skills is desired, specifically fluency in Spanish or Chinese. Seeking expertise in South America, Asia, or Europe.
