I've invited my friend from states, I'm not sure if its the same procedure, but you can try:
1. A letter of invitation to the Canadian consulate in "which ever country your folks reside in"
1.1 In this letter, you better state the purpose of their visit, how long, where, etc.
1.2 Most important, you need to state that you have the financial means to support them during their visit.
2. A proof of residency. i.e. photocopy of your drive liscense with your adddy on it.

I think that's it. You can probably google for "how do i get a visa for my parents"
