能上raid么

俺现在有一barracuda 120G SATA。想去再买一块做Strip raid. 问题是我懒得从装。如果添一块硬盘上去的话，raid controller 能自动吧老硬盘上的文件strip过来么？还是一定要format...... 那就累死了。

You don't need to format and reinstall everything. If you have an Intel 865 or 875 chipset, you can use Intel's Application Accelerator Raid Edition to migrage the data from a single sata drive to your new Raid 0 setup. The migration process might take a couple hours, but it only runs at the background, so you can still surf the web and so some other stuff while it's running.
This is what Intel claims, I don't have any experience on how reliable it is. I still don't have $$$$ to do a raid 0 setup.

不行，这位兄弟，raid 0的系统是分开安装在系统上的，所以要重新安装新的系统，要不要偶帮你，你安装Pcanywhere吧！

关注中，我也是这块主板，很喜欢。

理论上我认为是必须重装所有RAID使用的硬盘的。

RAID在底层就重新格式化硬盘，操作系统看
到的是RAID后的一个大硬盘，然后分区使用。

我用过SCSI的RAID，就是这样的。

SCSI CONTROL CARD的自带BIOS在主板检测到它后
启动，第一次使用的话，先进入设置菜单，选择
RAID方式，然后初始化。
完了以后机器重启，原来安装的WINDOWS XP里就
识别到一个新的硬盘。

所以操作系统是在它至上进行分区操作的。
