partition magic也有不济的时候

WD 80G的硬盘,Windows 2000 server+redhat 9 dual boot, boot manager是GRUB

现在想删除LINUX分区,然后用partition magic将原来分给Linux和Windows的一个分区合并起来. 先用磁盘之星删除Linux分区,重建了分区表,重起后就没有了GRUB Dual Boot的提示,直接进入了Windows 2000.

用PQMAGIC 8启动后,报 partition error 114,在手册都查不到这个错误,symantec网站的knowledge base给出的提示为

Partition table errors are errors in the 100 - 199 range. In most cases, you must resolve partition table errors by creating new, error-free partition tables. The general steps are:

1. Ensure you have no viruses (see the document Partition tables and viruses.).
2. Back up the data on the affected partitions.
3. Delete the partitions.
4. Recreate the partitions.
5. Restore their contents.

不明白分区表问题为什么要这样才能解决,应该有不用删除/重建这样的方法的,我上面可是有70G的东西,没有地方备份啊

理论上diskedit是resize分区的
但手工操作太麻烦,我那个分区还有数据,不敢冒这个险

兔兔的办法也许更可行,我的那个分区只有不到20G,5张DVD就搞定了

As far as I know, PQmagic usually does not support win2k server.
Maybe you are using a new version.

我没有描述清楚:blowzy:,现在改了一下
我是用PQMAGIC的磁盘启动的,你说得对,在2000 server里面是不能run PQMAGIC的

最后用acronis partition expert解决了问题,尽管没有partition magic顺手,但常见的功能都有,而且可以在win2000 server下运行.

在run PM 前，最好先用scandisk做一遍文件系统检查。我以前有几次也是PM失败，scandisk后就好了。
