1. A dot in a gmail id is redundant.
firstname.lastname@gmail.com = firstnamelastname@gmail.com =
f.irstnamelastname@gmail.com = f.i.rstnamelastname@gmail.com
When you send email to all these all address, it send to one account


But you need to type the excactly ID you registered to sign in the mailbox


2. You can put anything between your email id and the @ sign in a gmail id if you separate them by a + sign.
youremail@gmail.com = youremail+anythinghere@gmail.com

You need invitation to sign up a gmail account, google send invitation to old gmail account tester once in a while.

I got some invitation yesterday, all are used up.
