布什比严寒重税更可怕？美人欲移民加国

【万维读者网11月05日】美国总统大选结果甫出，加国官方的移民网站一下子挤得水泄不通，许多不想未来4年继续在布什管治下生活的美国民主党支持者纷纷上网查询，似要为铺后路做准备。 美国总统布什连任，令国内不少反对他的人失望不已，因而想到或许加国的寒冬、重税和费用紧绌的医疗保健体制，与布什的管治相比，会更易忍受。

加通社消息,布什周三发表就任演说后数小时，上网查询有关移民资料的人次创新高，是平时的6倍；共17.9万名访客，比去年原来单日纪录多了一倍多，其中64%即115,016人来自美国。加国公民及移民部发言人伊甸娜狄表示，不少人并非随意浏览便算，其中最多人查看的网页是技术工人的网上自我评分，希望了解是否符合条件，但她指出，这不足以证明会有大批美国人到加国寻求政治庇护，提出申请和有此意向是两回事，由现时起6个月内或许才会有点眉目。

美国人要移民加国跟其他国家的申请者同样要依规做事，包括缴交500元申请费，975元抵埠税和等候6-12个月；配偶如是加拿大人，可以缩短等候的时间，可上网(www.marryanamerican.ca)查看了解多些。

在Google的“move to Canada+Bush”网址搜寻，有800多网页供查看，当中有多个聊天组和至少一个意见调查，询问焦躁的自由主义者是否考虑离开美国。在CBS的芝加哥附属网站逾千人受访，约60%表示会考虑这样做，不过这数据未必可以当真。

在美国纽约布鲁克林(Brooklyn)区居住，妻子是加拿大人的华殊表示，不少美国人都在总统大选结果公布后，考虑移居加国。

在互联网流传一幅模拟的北美洲地图，展示扩大后的加国版图，包括支持美国民主党的州份即大湖区一带，以及美国东西岸，被叫作“United States of Canada”余下的州份则统称为“Jesusland”。

总理马田周四表示欢迎来自美国的移民，他开玩笑说，他们不能预期因为与加国为邻会获优待，他表示，加拿大是个移民国家，接纳不同地区符合移民资格的申请者前来，但相当怀疑能否将不想在美国当今领导人管治下的美国人的申请视作难民资格申请。

美国目前有11州投票支持修宪，否定同性恋者结婚的权利，这与加国回然不同，加国的同性恋者可以在6个省合法结婚，但有美国男同性恋者倡权分子指出，移民加国，说说而已，是对选举结果失望的情绪反应。有满地可移民律师表示，即使本周收到不少来自美国的电邮，查询移民加国的资料，但估计只是些失望的民主党人的一时激动，绝不会出现移民潮。

美国移民加国的人数一直下降，每年约有5,000人，高峰期是越战期间，每年有23,000人。

Do you have any idea about Democracy? It is simple - "Majority Wins"! When more people speaks differently from yours in an election, you either suck it up or move to elsewhere. Same as most people in the world, I hate to accept the fact that Bush has been re-elected. However, in despit of the result, I have to admit US does have the fairest electional system that represents most of its men. We hate Bush, but face it - we are not Americans, they are! they thought Bush was a great leader, so they re-elected him. That is true democrate! What have we got in China? All leaders are privately assigned even cross generations!! We all have to such it up, no matter how shity the leaders are! I was wondering what Mr. cherry-pie would say to China's electional system. Oooops, what am I talking about, we do not even have one. ha ha ha~

As a true democrate country, in US, there are people who think differently. Then again, since they are minority, they either have to concede the result or move elsewhere. It is understandable that some true liberals from American want to move to Canada.
