what software of chinese input for windows XP(Engligh)

my computer is using windows XP english version. i would like to write to my friend in chinese sometimes. what software should i use for chinese input? where do i find and download it?
i remember i had used the software "nanji star" on my old computer(windows 98). it always caused some problems. is there any better software?
