机器太慢了warning"Limited Virtual Memory"

I have used Norton and McAfee, no virus.

But when the machine start up, there is a warning"Limited Virtual Memory"

"Your system has no paging file or the paging file is too small..........."

My computer is Windows2000, I have checked my allocated paging file is only 20MB, when I go to My computer --> properies -->advanced-->performance-->change....

I can only change the initial size and Max size, but how to change the current allocated size?

If I remeber correctly the rule of thumb is to set it to 1.5 times the amount of physical ram you have for optimum performance. Authough this is a little cloudy as others say to make it as high as you can. Personally I stick with the 1.5 times physical.

Ok try setting it to zero 1st, reboot this will clear the pagefile. Boot to safe mode, set it to 768mb which 1.5 x 512mb then reboot agian. Login as administartor and check the evnet viewer fro any related errors and post them here.
Also try a full disk check on ur system after the above chkdsk /r.

I am only worrying there is a worm in computer which consume a lot memory, otherwise, I did nothing, why it prompt warning, and I have never configure the virtual memory before.

Anyway, I will try your advice first.
