Sr. Software Engineer - Ottawa, Canada
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
* Sr. Software Engineer will work in a team environment to develop, test, deliver and support effective, efficient and high quality data restoration, information retrieval/information recovery, solutions, for both messages and file content.
* Will work with customers to transform customer requirements and needs into value-added and well-integrated solutions.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least 8 years of experience in the following areas:
* Software design and development experience with C++ in the Windows platform.
* GUI design and experience producing applications for end users.
* Experience with complex client/server and web-based system and software development on multiple platforms.
* Experience developing and reusing COM components. Experience with ATL is highly desirable.
* Experience developing server-side web-based applications. Experience with CGI/ISAPI definitely an asset.
* Experience developing dynamic HTML applications using JScript and is desirable.
* Experience with HTTP and other internet protocols is desirable.
* Experience with developing software and systems with high reliability, scalability, availability and performance.
* Experience with large scale storage systems highly desirable.
* Experience with large corporate-wide messaging system installations and administration a big plus.
* Must possess excellent problem solving and communication skills.
* Must interface effectively with customers, other engineering team members, and other departments such as Quality Assurance, Professional Services and Operations.
EDUCATION:
* BA/BS degree is required
* Technical certifications a plus
