Title: IP Communications Applications Engineer, Senior
Location: Canada-Ottawa
Responsibilities:
As a Senior IP Communications Applications Engineer, communications cores, you will be responsible for providing pre- and post-sales applications support to customers and the extended sales force for IP cores. This includes responding to technical inquiries, providing design evaluations and recommendations, supporting design-win activities and creating collateral-lie reference designs, design examples, applications notes and other technical collateral. You will also be involved in providing feedback to the developers to help improve current and future IP core products. In addition, you will also be responsible for training other applications engineers and support personnel as needed on these IP cores.
Qualifications include a BSEE or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years design experience. An in-depth knowledge of communications standards such as SONET, Ethernet, and other emerging protocol standards is required. Experienced with industry standard EDA flows, synthesis, and verification tools is required. RTL coding (Verilog and/or VHDL) and high speed design techniques is required. FPGA design experience is required. Experience in project leadership and good engineering development practices and documentation is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. An MSEE is highly desirable. Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI-4.2 would be a plus.
