I am living in Ottawa. I am using Ontario driver's licence and plate. I got a ticket while traveling in Montreal. It is about parking. Do I need to respond to it. If I plea of not guilty. Do I need to go to Montreal to attend the trial?
Please help me. Thank you very much in advance.

You definitely have to pay for the ticket, unless you have a good reason and wish to appeal in court (but this will take forever...)

I used to live in Montreal, before moving to Ottawa, I sold the car without paying a parking ticket, after 5 years, they sent a ultimatum to my current address demanding either $220 (yes, compund interest for a parking ticket) or have my driving/registration suspended in Quebec. The point here is, they can track you down as long as you live in Canada...

Good luck!

stay in ontario don't go there any more
