How Ebay works?

I am now planning to buy an Ipod on ebay, but I found that the price there is too cheap to be possible, like a apple shuffle, it's just 9 dollars with 16mins left. Anybody buy stuffs from Ebay before, is it trustworthy? or do I need to pay extra high shipping fee and something else that I need to pay attention? Thx for your answer!
