LINUX有无类似WINDOWS 的SAFE MODE?

刚买了SAMSUNG的LCD MONITOR.
进RED　ＨＡＴ　ＬＩＮＵＸ　后在＂ＤＩＳＰＬＡＹ＂中更改设置后重启后，在登录阶段黑屏，只有一个提示框(not in optimized mode, optimized mode is 1280*1024,60HZ)在飘来飘去．　但没有办法操作．
在ＷＩＮＤＯＷＳ下，我可以先关再开显示器．２０秒后就黑屏．我用这种方法开关多次完成更改．
但ＬＩＮＵＸ下，先关再开显示器后还是黑屏．

请教对策！

以single-user 模式启动（rescure mode)，编辑 /etc/inittab , 把runlevel 从5改为3,然后再启动，就可以进入console ,接着就可以 root 登陆，编辑/etc/X11 的相应文件，稍微麻烦点。

为了使编辑后的 inittab 起作用，直接进入console (command-line mode)。

For Redhat Linux, It seems that I have to find the first disc of the installation CD and boot from the CDROM.

不用重新从CD-ROM 启动，看你用的是GRUB还是LILO.
1:如果是GRUB,选择Red Hat LINU 选项，输入e，屏幕会出现几个选项，选择以kernel打头那行，再敲e,然后 敲single,回车后回到 GRUB,然后输入b 就会boot.
2:如果是LILO，（如果是图形方式，必须[Ctrl]+[x] 退出图形方式）
boot: linux single

I edited the XF86Config file under /etc/X11

Find a better way, use Ctrl+Alt+numpad plus or minus to shift different X server screen resolutions.
