On May 18, 2005 , McDonald's® Canada invites you to celebrate a very special tradition ? McHappy Day®.
Since its inception in 1977, this unique, one-day fundraising event has raised more than $20 million for children's charities across the country. On this day, communities come together as local personalities and VIPs work in participating McDonald's restaurants to contribute to a worthy cause ? children in need.
All proceeds from this year's McHappy Day will benefit local children's charities - that means one dollar from the sale of every McMuffin ® sandwich, Big Mac ® sandwich or Happy Meal® will be donated to the restaurant's charity of choice. Customers are also invited to sign a Ronald McDonald footprint to be posted in restaurants or buy a pin in support of McHappy Day.
The donations will add up as more than 1,375 McDonald's Restaurants across Canada participate on May 18. At the end of the day, over 200 charities supporting 184,000 children will benefit from McHappy Day proceeds.
