[请教] 如何upgrade Linux 用的 glibc ?

Since I am using an older PC (AMD K6-233, 64MB ram, 3GB hard drive), therefore I don't want to upgrade to a newer Linux version, as some people has suggested me before. Right now this machine is running Red Hat Linux 6.0.

I just need the newer kernel and glibc so that I can install OpenOffice on Linux systems. However, upgrading kernel does not upgrade glibc at the same time.

Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

openoffice 要求128MB,用这样的配置跑openoffice会很痛苦的
估计你的RPM版本也很低,所以apt-get/yum这样的工具也用不上
只能从glibc2的tarball安装更新,会牵涉到很多依赖性问题,弄不好linux就启动不了
网上可以找到一些怎么从tarball upgrade的文章
