Join the Governor General, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Canadian Heritage, and thousands of Canadians on Parliament Hill as some of our finest artists from across the country perform on centre stage. This year, the theme highlights Canada from East to West ― a celebration of the 100th anniversaries of the creation of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Be thrilled by the Snowbirds and cheer Canadian performers. Come and salute Canada’s 138th birthday!

7).Kanata Native Powwow and Lisa Odjig

The grace, beauty and smooth swaying of traditional dancers in their buckskin clothing reflect pride and dignity as they synchronize their footsteps with the pulsing beat of drums. Gather to celebrate the traditions, heritage and culture of the powwow.

8).Kikino Northern Lites Dancers (Alta.)

Metis traditional dance ― a combination of Native dance and French high-stepping ― creates a lively and meaningful part of Metis culture. Join the dancers as they move to guitar and fiddle music.

A sense of magic and myth through the use of stilts, masks and fantastic costuming

A star-studded lineup of top Canadian talent from throughout the country will pay tribute to the centennials of Alberta and Saskatchewan, and also honour the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two and 2005 ― Year of the Veteran. Featuring:

Some of the best views are from Jacques-Cartier Park, Major’s Hill Park and along the Ottawa River. (The fireworks will be set off from the Astrolabe at about 10:05 pm, right after the evening show on Parliament Hill.)
