我持的是中国护照，7月初抵加拿大，是vistor V-1签证，8月17到期（有效期从5月17日至8月17日）。 我定的是8月26日回中国的飞机票。只过期1个星期，也需要续签吗？ 若需要，在OTTAWA什么地方？麻烦各位了。

1. thank you for providing more info so that I do not have to work as hard guessing -- what passport you are holding and which visa you were talking about -- as I did with your previous post.
2. since your numbers still do not add up, such as 7+3= 8 (?), I strongly suggest that you take a closer look at your visa and let us know where you got this expriation date (i.e. August 17): from your stamp visa or from another piece of paper? This is important because this expiration date may be the time your visa expires not the time your status in Canada terminates.
3. if you will be in fact out of status on August 17th and you leave Canada on 26th, it is still wise to file an extention with the immigration office. By the way, the gap in between 17th and 26th is 9 days.

The date of issue/expiry date were 19/05/2005/17/08/2005 in my VISA. I arrived in Canada at Jul 05 2005. According to Visa, I could stay Canada untill 17/08/2005,is it right?. My Visa Category was V-1. This is all details I knew in my passort.

I think that you would be fine. august 17th is only the time your visa expires: for example, you will not be admitted into Canada using this visa after August 17th. It is, however, a whole different issue regarding how long you can stay in Canada as a visitor. Unless you were told otherwise, the default stay as a visitor to Canada is 6 months. This means you have until Jan 05/06 to leave Canada. So relax and enjoy the short summer in Ottawa. Hope this helps. cheers.

签证有效期同你可以在这里逗留过久没有关系。

１）签证有效期，是说你必须在这期间入境。
２）入境的时候，如果海关或者移民官员，在你的护照上注明你必须在何日前离境，那就是你的兜揽期。如果只盖了个章，没有注明离境日期，你可以自入境之日起，在加逗留６个月。
