Effective from Aug. 12 in Ontario:

"The new rules will apply to children up to eight years of age, weighing between 40 and 80 pounds (18 and 36 kilograms) and standing under four feet nine inches (144 centimetres) tall.

If those children aren't in proper booster seats, drivers face a $90 fine, a $20 surcharge and two demerit points."
