I just don't see the point why we want to lie about it. If we got the citizenship, the PR card would not be valid any more (we could not use it to enter Canada).

Is it a Chinese tradition, as some would keep their Chinese resident cards?

Normally the expiry date of the maple card is within 2 years after your getting the citizenship. (coz the maple card will cover 5 period. And if you are qualified for citizenship in the first 3 years, the expiry date normally is within 2 years.)

So it almost makes no difference to keep it or not.
