what is that orange PCI port for?

那个PCI的插座供电有特别电路，输出比其他的稳定，是特别为声卡用的（当然别的也可以，只是声卡要求电源更稳定一点为好）

what else can it do? anything special other than just the extra high/stable level of current/voltage

nope, just extra stable current

and trust me, no onboard sound card will EVER beat an external card..... or even PCI..
