I bought brand new car two years ago. Last year June, my one year old car had transmission problem, had to be brought in to the dealer for repair. At that time, the dealer asked me whether I needed to rent a car, I said yes. Six months later, I got bill from car rental company.I called the car rental company to ask why they charged to me not to the dealer. They told me because the dealer did not pay within 30 days, they gave the dealer 3 months extension, the dealer did not pay, finally they had to charge to the renter.
Then I talked to the dealer manager, he told me the dealer has no policy to rent a car for repairing manufactory defects, these has to be at my own expenses. But this was second time that my car was brought in. Last time I rent car for two days, I did not get the bill, I supposed the dealer paid for me. Why did they say they don't have policy.
Does anyone have similar experiences? If the car is under warrenty, and had manufactory defects need to be brought in to garage for days, does dealer suppose to pay the car rental?
