anyone know about aeroplan Card

Hi,

I am using CIBC dividend 1% cash back visa card. My spending on this visa card per year is about $25000~$30000.

I am considering to change to a better reward card like America express Costco Platinum cash rebate card (up to 2% cash rebate) or a aeroplan card like America express aeroplanPlus gold card or CIBC Aerogold VISA Card.

But I am not familar with aeroplan card. I know how airmile card works and decide not to go with it. Current me and my husband don't travel within Canada and U.S. a lot but may travel once per year later. But we do travel to China once every two years.

Can anyone tell me which one is better for me? America express Costco Platinum cash rebate card or a aeroplan card?

Major different:

1) Costco, no annual fee. Aeroplan Platium is $399CAD annual
2) Free airticket annually if you pay for full fare economic class or business class. None in costco
3) 30000CAD spending could result in 45000 Aeroplan mile. 2% cashback could be around 600CAD from costco
4) Aeroplan is for airline from Star Alliance.

If you are really looking for rewards(with annual fee), go for RBC Platium Avion Visa. $120 anually fee waived for 1st year. 10000 points upon approval. first annual renew 5000 points. up to 2.5% points redemption for flight ticket. exmaple. 30000 points = flight ticket $750. No airline restriction.

If you don't travel, Costco is better. Otherwise Airline rewards cards better.
