The deaths of seven Canadians in Lebanon on Sunday cast a pall over Prime Minister Stephen Harper's participation in a surprising G8 political entente on the raging conflict in the Middle East.
Harper, however, had never requested any stop to Israel's military incursion into Lebanon, and in fact had called the Israeli response "measured."
