You can use your China license for 2 months after landing. You have to buy insurance together from the rental company also.
You have to make sure it is within 2 months, otherwise you would get big trouble whenever an accident occurs. One of my friend rented a car with his China license after 60 days of landing. He got colision but the insurance company refused to pay anything because of the invalid license.
