Our client is one of Americas leading Engineering and Construction firms with offices and projects located throughout the world. Working out of Shanghai, you will be the Regional HR Manager for their operations in Asia, which includes about 300 local employees and oversight of some smaller offices in Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
The client will consider both Western and Asian expatriates or a local person.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Architectural, Engineering or Construction industry, or a related business, but the ability to manage HR in an international setting is the key. Mandarin language ability is highly desired, but not required.
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
You will be a key member and strategic business partner for the China management team and the leader of the China HR Shared Services Team. Accountable for the development of short and long-range strategies in all the functional HR areas with initial focus areas in: recruitment and staffing, cross business group team integration, compensation, learning and organizational development and development of the human resources team in China. Primary or shared accountability for the development of business team and Shared Service leaders in conjunction with the China Management Team. Forecasts and plans strategic as well as workload driven staff needs with the China Business Manager and/or the Regional Business Group Operations Managers. Provides functional oversight and guidance for in the delivery of HR work processes and services which include: staffing, training, organizational development, performance management, benefits, compensation, employee relations, safety, and risk management.
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPEREINCE OF SHORTLISTED CANDIDATE
Minimum 10 years of HR experience, which includes China, and with multi-national organizations. Other international assignment experience a plus
Must hold key HR leadership positions in the last 3-5 years of experience
Must demonstrate success in recruiting at all organization levels
Preferred candidates will have direct HR experience in engineering, construction and project management organizations
Fluency in oral and written English is a requirement
Fluency in oral and written Mandarin is strongly preferred however not required
Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution of HR related business strategies
Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and mentor key talent
Ability to act as strategic business partner to general management
Ability to travel and willing to relocate to other international assignment locations
Ability to take on a broader management roles either on major projects or regions
B.S. degree from an accredited college or university
Compensation: $80,000 - $130,000 +++
