When we bought our new house last Oct, the original closing date was Aug 25, 2006. When we sold our current house in April this year, we consulted with our builder about the closing date and our builder was very positive about an early Nov closing so we decided to close our current house on Nov 27 to give our builder a little bit more time if they couldn't finish the house in early Nov. In June, our builder sent us a letter telling us the closing date had been changed to Dec 5, 2006. Last week, our builder called us to postpone the closing date again to Jan 22, 2007 which is over 120 days from the original closing date. Our builder is offering a MAXIMUM compensation of CAD5000 credit upon closing and asking us to sign an Amendment. What do you think about the compensation? Please comment. Thank you very much.

Your builder is not too bad. As I know, some builders refuse to pay any compensation because of the flexible terms in the sales contract.

This situation sounds soooooooooo familiar...:blowzy:

哦,看样子我也得常常去工地溜达溜达,早做准备啊!Findlay Creek那里不是都盖差不多了么,各种管线啥的,怎么还拖延那么多啊

No wonder...:flaming:

My house had been delayed more than 240 days... I still got $5000 compensation... that is the maximum you can get, unfortunately....
