Pay attention to these issues which may cost you a lot in case there is problem:
1. Crack on wall, especially on outside wall and fundation.
2. Wet stain or repire mark on ceiling and under bathroom.
3. Stale in basement, wet stain or repire mark. It means it had flooded and may still has problem.
4. Glasses and seals in windows and doors. If there is fog between the glasses? Wood window frame lasts 25 years usually. It costs you $10K to change all windows.
5. Shingle on roof. How many years it has been used? Usually it lasts 15-20 years. It costs you $4-5K to change it.
6. Furnace and air condition. Do they work? How many years it has worked? Furnace lasts 20 years usually. Is it high efficient or mid or low efficient? A furnace cost $4-5K.
7. Carpet. Is it dirty? Carpet usually last 20 years. It costs you $5-6K to change it.
8. Open the cabinet under the tap to see if there is any leaking mark.
9. The kitchen and stove location. You may need a powerful range hood for cooking. Can the vent goes outside?
