Dealer Maintenance is better?

I leased a car in 2002. Because it was a leasing car and I went to Mandes for all mantenance and oil changes, I did not pay attendtion for the schedule. I bought the car recently, I checked the maintenance history, found problems. Never trust the dealer. They did not follow the maintenance schedule. They did not change coolant but the schedule is at every 24month or 36000km. They changed the Transmission oil at 64000km but the schedule is at every 96000km. They also lost one of wheel cover.

Just share this info with you. The best is that you know your car and do most job yourself. Now I am learning DIY.

In your manual, you should be able to find the Factory Scheduled Maintenance. At what mileage to replace/clean which parts. Or you can go to any garage they should be able to print one for you just based on your current mileage. We give our every customer one FSM when they leave. They can choose to get the work done anywhere.

I leased 1 car in 2003 but I don't follow the schedule because I want to buy it after expiration. What will happen?

What I wanted to say is that it is your car, you need to care it by yourself. Like me, because it was leasing car I did not pay much attention. Everytime, I just drove to the dealer Mandes Toyota, they said, do this and do that, I just paid money and picked up the car. Do not trust the shop you do not know much event it is a big dealer.

I mean even the dealer does that changes things that are not supposed to be changed, and does not change things that are supposed to be changed, like my case.
