Water line in new house

I found that all water lines in my house are plastic (PVC) tubes. I just wonder if it is standard now instead of copper pipes. Any responses will be most appreciated.

It depends on the builder and depends on the time you bought your house.

When we bought our first house from Clariage, PVC was standard. When we bought our second house from Tartan, copper was standard. All the builders change their specifications from time to time, something that is standard in 2005 may be a upgrade in 2006.

They are safe for drinking water and meet building code.
They have some advantage vs cooper pipe. More acid resistant and less noise.

民用住宅使用朔胶管PEX,安装快捷,成本低,可靠. 商业地方还是使用铜管.
