I agree, this is a practical proposal.
I am thinking it may be easy to open a consultant company, the key thing is we need start with some projects to develop the company.

there are some companies in China and they are doing this. Charging service or support is ok, like RedHat.

Well, the meeting was more about knowing people and sharing ideas than anything else. Although we did not decide on any business purposal, I believe the meeting was benefitial to every attendant.

well, to develop a game is not easy, especially for 3D games. plus I don't think you can find qualified graphic designer here in Ottawa.

considering price for hardware(server) and web hosting has dropped a lot. I suggest to develop a kind of online service. the service could be a kind of business application ,communication tool or even online game. the service could be free for use then after gather certain amount of users start to charge for add-on function or enhanced service.
in this case the whole project will be easier to develop, running at lower expense and has future (client side could be on various platform).

我是国内刚过来的，没能赶上参加这次会议，我对游戏设计有一定的了解，我的博士专业就是计算机图形学。目前我的一部分学生有非常好的三维软件设计应用能力（能够用3ds max和maya制作逼真的人体、建筑、物件等模型和动画）和美术功底，另外一部分学生有很好的编程基础。相信如果要进行游戏开发我应该能帮上一些忙。
