central humidifier

Anyone have furnace (central) humidifier installed at their home? what do you think of its efficiency? is it practical? does it really work well in bringing humidity to dry winter? what type is better, drum or flow-through? thanks for any feedback.

I have one installed, but I dot not know how well it works. I do not feel dry though.

I have a Drum one, but I even do not know how to let it works. Does anybody know?

flow-through is better. you will not have a wet basement. For drum one, may you need a small motor (you can buy at Canadian tire) to turn the big wheel roll and adjust the floater to make sure the water doesn't come out.
